The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2012 with an intake of 60 seats. We have sufficient Teaching and Non teaching staffs, well equipped laboratory facilities as per norms of Pondicherry University and AICTE, New Delhi.

Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (MEGA) was inaugurated on 5th sept 2014 by Thiru.M.Ramasamy, Supp. Engineer, ONGC Karaikal in presence of Thiru. M.A. Krishnan, Chairman – SKCET.
ENTHRAFEST 2K16, National level technical symposium conducted by MEGA on 23rd sept 2016, various engineering college students are participated.
PRO-SKCET2K17, National level Project Expo conducted by MEGA on 20th feb 2017.

Mr. K.Sakthivel, B.E., M.Tech., M.A., D.I.E., (Ph.D).,
Mr.K.Sakthivel, received his Under Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Annamalai University, Post Graduate Degree in Manufacturing Technology from Prist University, Post Graduate Degree in English from Annamalai University and Special Diploma in Industrial Engineering from Ministry of Human Resource Development Institution, Chennai. He started his career as Mechanical Supervisor and Shift In charge in various India Private Limited companies for three years. He has 19 years of experience in the reputed technical Institutions as Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Head of the Department, Deputy Warden, Faculty Advisor etc.
Mr.K.Sakthivel has also served as the Principal of Sree Arumugham Polytechnic College for four years,

Information and communication Technology in Education conducted by colombu plant Staff College, Philippines and National Institute of Technical Teacher training and Research (NITTTR) Chennai. India.
